If perfume is one of the French’s favorite accessories, and increasingly used by everyone, it is for all its advantages. It allows us to enhance ourselves, to please us, but it also has a long lifespan. And this, whether in its bottle or on our skin.
The lifespan of a perfume
A perfume is composed of alcohol and essential oil. It can therefore be stored quickly, it is not a product that expires quickly. So you can take your time using it.
As long as it is not opened, it hardly deteriorates since it is not in contact with the air, its microbes and its humidity. Once it has started, you have to pay attention to the date. It is said that it can be kept for 3 years. But this is an average: it depends on its composition and its environment. As with many things, it must be in a dry and dark place to have good conservation.
Time for a perfume on the skin
It’s the morning, you put on perfume and hope it lasts until the afternoon meeting? By having the right method, it will still smell very good. Because yes, a perfume can be kept all day.
However, it changes throughout the day. When you put it on, it smells very strong for a few minutes. Then it dissipates and becomes discreet. After a few hours, the molecules wake up and it starts to smell again, but slightly differently than its original smell. Indeed, the scent of the perfume can vary upon contact with the skin.
For better preservation, there are specific places to apply the perfume: in the hair if it is long, on the wrists, on the neck and on the chest. All areas of the body where you can feel the heart beating are warmer areas where the perfume diffuses more easily, and which keeps the smell.
