A reinforced hygiene rule
Even if the practice of massage therapy is among the activities requiring the application of drastic hygiene rules, with Covid-19, these have been reinforced. THE massage in times of Covid-19 will take place in compliance with the following health protocols:
- all door handles are disinfected after each entry and exit;
- workstations, changing rooms and massage cabins are equipped with hydroalcoholic gel, liquid soap, disinfectant wipes for the skin, disinfectant spray and disinfectant wipes for surfaces;
- all types of snacks are eliminated, the same goes for magazines which are generally made available to customers;
- the premises are regularly ventilated;
- wherever possible, individual work tools (sometimes single-use) are used.
Each massage parlor is also required to set up a sorting procedure in order to better separate material likely to be contaminated. Clean linen and bathroom linen (sheets, towels, etc.) are also separated to avoid possible contamination.
An appointment is required
Get a massage safely in times of Covid-19, it is above all limiting contact with others. This is why, at present, massage establishments no longer use their waiting rooms. In fact, making an appointment is mandatory. To do this, you should prefer to make an appointment online, by telephone or by email.
This obligatory appointment also allows you to fully benefit from a good massage according to your availability without having to wait a long time in the waiting room. You simply need to make sure you are on time so that the massage staff can properly disinfect the premises before the next appointment. Furthermore, payment by credit card is also strongly encouraged.
Respect for barrier gestures throughout the session
Throughout the session, massage therapist and masseuse must respect the application of health safety measures for mutual protection. All linens used are single use. Also, the two protagonists must wear a protective element at the nose and mouth. If the massage ever involves a facial treatment, it will be carried out in such a way as to avoid face-to-face contact.
Massage and vaccination
Have you already been vaccinated, and in view of all these health measures, are you wondering if they also apply to you? Well, know that the protocols applied within massage parlors do not change. Furthermore, you should know that the member where you received your vaccine for Covid-19 (usually the arm), should not be massaged for 24 to 48 hours after vaccination. If you have symptoms after your vaccination, the massage parlor will not be able to receive you. You will have to wait until the symptoms disappear.
