Electrical accreditation: What is it?
Current legislation requires that workers who carry out operations on or near electrical installations have electrical authorization in view of the risks for personnel. In this case, it is the recognition by the employer of the ability of a person under his authority to safely carry out the tasks entrusted to him. Do not confuse a diploma in electricity and electrical accreditation. In fact, electrical accreditation recognizes a capacity and not a skill. The authorization title is personal and cannot be given to others. During working hours, the incumbent is required to carry it with him or keep it within reach. Electrical accreditation: Training content
The electrical accreditation training contains 2 parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. Its objective is to obtain professional aptitude in the field of electrical risk prevention. This electrical accreditation training will cover the first concepts of electricity, electrical risks and the effects of electricity on the human body. Trainees will be trained in what to do in the event of electrocution, protection against the dangers of electricity and fire risks.

An electrical authorization is issued to any person who must carry out electrical or non-electrical tasks in an environment of electrical works or installations such as, for example, access to certain electrical premises, supervision of electrical work, carrying out of recordings, measurements…
Electrical accreditation: Why?
Electrical certification training is mandatory. Indeed, it is necessary to learn how to carry out interventions on electrical installations based on safe conditions. This training must also be followed by employees who carry out their duties near electrical devices. A certificate is then issued by the occupational doctor to the trained people at the end of the apprenticeship.
Electrical authorization is governed by the NF C18-510 standard and as such it requires companies to train their employees in the new standards in terms of electrical authorization. This measure is mandatory to guarantee the safety of a company’s staff and property.
An electrical authorization is valid for a period of 3 years. Then, the employee must follow training again to update their knowledge and find out about new developments related to the regulations. This electrical authorization can be either canceled or suspended by the management of the company at any time. On the other hand, it can be revised as soon as necessary, for example in the event of a change of company or function, transfer, interruption for a long period, technological change or working methods, etc.
